Do You Scan Your Books?

I have small children very close in age and I am starting to use textbooks for their Arabic lessons. I have a set of books for one child and can't decide whether to scan them (tedious) or buy extras (expensive).

What do you do?

By the way, the laptop is no more, SubhanALLAH, so I've moved to the desktop. It's annoying after using a laptop for so long, but at least I have it. Fortunately, everything that I had on the other computer is on here as well, so I've not really lost anything except the odd file here and there, AlhamduLILLAH.

SubhanALLAH sister, I have the same dilemma. Don't really know what the best option is here. Till now, I have been scanning the books which takes lots of time. So I'm starting to consider buying extra copies...

Salaam Sis,

good to hear from you. I think I'll just have to purchase another set. The scans were some of the things I lost on my laptop (guess I'll learn to back it up on disk, won't I?).

Take care,
wa salaam,

Asalaam 'Alaikum:

We also scan/print. We don't have to print everything in the book - we use the book and then only print what we need.

My husband often says that sometimes it is just better to buy another book, masha'Allah. I guess it depends on how many pages you need to print.

Wa 'alaikum as salaam Sis,

I think in this case I'll just buy again. The good thing about math is that I just need to purchase the workbooks as we go along. Language arts is probably the most expensive and I haven't figured that out yet.

Take care,
wa salaam,
Nakia

as salaamu `alaykum!

With regards to workbooks and other consumables, I don't usually make extra copies because I think what suits older sister may not suit the younger. In some cases, I've left the workbooks clean - my elder daughter copies them into her exercise book.

Love the photos of your happy days!
